Thank You Matt!

"Hi, my name is Matt Hobbs. I'm an army Blackhawk pilot, currently serving in Iraq. I'm on standby duty tonight, surfing the internet, and I stumbled upon your web site. I used to live near the New Smyrna Airport while attending ERAU to obtain my A&P license. I enjoyed the site and it brought back good memories. I used to stop by the hangar to admire the warbirds when they were in for their annual inspections. I was always impressed with the workmanship and attention to detail on the restoration work, and felt lucky to be able to see what the aircraft must have looked like when they were factory new in the 1940's. Amazing to see how much of the technology developed for WWII aircraft is still in use today, even on my Blackhawk. My Dad grew up during the war and I inherited his interest in World War II aircraft. I could tell the difference between a Hellcat and a P47 by the time I was six, thanks to him, and I really enjoyed the photos of the Corsair restoration. Amazing."

Here are some photos Matt sent.

"The pictures are from Iraq and Afghanistan. We are assigned to the B Co 2-25 Aviation Regiment and the name of our company is the "Knighthawks". We are a helicopter assault company assigned to the 25th Infantry Division's Combat Aviation Brigade, home based at Wheeler Army Airfield Hawaii (which was heavily damaged on Dec 7 1941)."
